Sakura Sakura
A moment to unwind in the city.
At Sakura Sakura in Akasaka 2-chome, diners can enjoy meticulously crafted Japanese cuisine in a calm atmosphere, ranging from business lunches loaded with seasonal sashimi and small dishes to homemade desserts and evening kaiseki courses.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Sakura Sakura offers an inviting spot in a quiet pocket of Akasaka 2-chome to enjoy a generous Japanese set meal without pretension. At midday, the business lunch brings a colourful spread to the tray: a five-piece sashimi assortment, delicate oboro tofu, daily small side dishes, and simmered items that make an immediate visual impression. For rice, patrons can choose standard white rice, the daily seasoned takikomi-gohan, or a blend of black rice and pressed barley, with the option to enjoy the fresh fish as a seafood rice bowl.
The lunch repertoire also includes sets such as teriyaki black cod, a mini lunch kaiseki, and deep-fried shrimp with pork fillet, accommodating everyday breaks and relaxed gatherings alike. Meticulous care shows across every component, extending right through to the dessert that caps the meal: homemade warabi mochi paired with vanilla ice cream.
In the evening, the focus shifts to reservation-based kaiseki and prix fixe courses built around seasonal fish and meat dishes, served alongside glasses of wine or beer. With counter seating alongside raised tatami rooms, the restaurant provides a tranquil setting whether dropping in for a work lunch or lingering over an evening meal.
